Older players putting a lot of pressure on themselves after previous final losses says Kilkenny’s Denise Gaule

Denise is looking forward to the game and says it's all about this weekend and no point thinking about the past.

Kilkenny player Denise Gaule says some of the older players have put a lot of pressure on themselves after coming up short in All Ireland finals over the past few years.

They take on Galway in a repeat of last year’s final this Saturday from 7 o clock in Croke Park.

Denise says it’s all about this weekend and no point thinking about the past.

“There probably is a lot of pressure on the older girls and we probably put it on ourselves as well, so to feed off the younger girls coming in might be a thing as well” said Denise.

“It’s a new year and with everything else going on this year you just have to take it at that and not even think about what happened in the past, what happened in the past is in the past now, we can learn from it and move on, we’re just looking forward to being back there”.

Denise said “At the start of the year if you would have told us that we were going to be in an All Ireland in December we would have bit your hand off no matter when it is, we’re just delighted to be back”.

We have live commentary of the game here with thanks to Topline Phelans, Ballyragget and Durrow.

We also have a preview programme this Saturday from 5.30pm with thanks to Country Style Foods.
