O’Loughlin Gaels ‘beaten by the better team on the day’ says Aidan Fogarty

O’Loughlin Gaels Senior hurling manager Aidan Fogarty says they have no complaints about been beaten by the better team on the day.

Speaking to KCLR after been defeated by 9-points in yesterday’s Leinster Senior Club Final, Aidan says it’s difficult to come to terms with yesterday’s result.

“I think that any team that gets beaten in a final the previous year, they always want to get back to that stage again and right that wrong to a certain extent, but yes they were well prepared to gain revenge I suppose or to make up for last years final defeat.

Fair play to them, we just can’t complain, we were just beaten by the better team on the day. Difficult from our point of view to put it all together, but yes, they were good and we just weren’t good enough on the day”

On Monday’s The Way It Is, Aidan says they are capable of winning the All-Ireland.

“Well on paper yes, they should be beating Slaughtneil but as I said to them in the dressing room, they would need to be very wary of it. Slaughtneil are on a good run at the moment, they will be playing two All-Ireland Semi-Finals in the New Year, but having said that if Cuala play like they played on Sunday, they should beat Slaughtneil and I would have every confidence then that if they maintain that level of performance if it’s Ballyea or the other team, they are well capable of winning the All-Ireland”

If you missed the game at the weekend, you can listen back to it in full here on the Fanzone and via catchup facilities from Tuesday morning.
