Graigue-Ballycallan Intermediate Hurling manager Brendan Hayes says they can look forward with greater optimism to their Quarter-Final clash against Thomastown on Sunday having got the monkey of relegation off their back.
Speaking to KCLR, Brendan says the victory over St. Lachtains Freshford last weekend was a relief.
“Well I suppose the scoreline never really tells the full story, but yeah we performed well and we got a few breaks on the day and I suppose our goalie pulled off a few saves which probably kept us with that 7 point lead in the end.
“But it was a much tighter game than that and we were very cautious going into that match and delighted to get over a tough team that is Freshford and yeah get that monkey off our back which is relegation and now look forward for the rest of the year hopefully.” he said.
