Palatine Senior Football manager Mick Lillis is looking forward to a crack at the Dublin Champions when they play them in the Leinster Club Championship next month.
Speaking to KCLR in the aftermath of yesterday’s County Senior Football Final victory over Rathvilly, Mick says the older servants within the squad made a valuable contribution to yesterday’s victory.
“Absolutely, there is that combined service to the Club at Senior level of nearly 80 years which is incredible and they are fantastic clubmen along with Joe Byrne who left us this year. Joe was a great club man as well. There is other great clubmen. It’s just fantastic and we are thrilled.
Mick added while looking ahead to the challenge of the Dublin Champions that it will be a great occasion.
“Absolutely. It’s going to be a great day for the Pal club. Great day for Carlow. We are just thrilled to be going and playing the Dubs. They are the benchmark, they are the yardstick and we would like to prove that maybe Carlow Football is not as bad as people think it is”
