Carlow Junior Camogie manager Mark Brennan says it the Premier Junior A Championship will be difficult despite playing teams of a lower standard than what they have already faced this year.
Carlow travel to Westmeath for their opening Championship game on Sunday, and speaking to KCLR, Mark says that the opposition teams they will face in the Championship are very experienced at this level…..
“If we hadn’t of played well in the League or the Leinster Championship, we would still be going into this competition maybe ranked third or fourth out of the 6 teams that are in it”
“That is the reality of the situation. We are playing against teams who have been up at this level for the last three or four years”
“We are the newbies to this level again even if it is Junior Premier. With that I suppose it’s trying to get the minds right as much as anything else because we are under no illusions and there is three our four teams in this competition who have been playing at a higher level than we have, and will definitely fancy their chances against us every time we play us”
