Anne Rennick of Carlow Gymnastics says that it is a remarkable achievement to have three gymnasts from the club representing Ireland in the European Championships.
Anya Farrell, Roisin O’Toole, and Ella Sullivan will travel to Italy to compete and Rennick explained how rare it is to have three people from the same club travelling together.
“It’s very difficult to get three people working together at this level, in fact in the last ten years we have, from Ireland, only had two groups representing Ireland at European level at senior and one of those groups was from Carlow as well,” said Anne.
“So there’s a good strong tradition here and the girls have worked extremely hard to get to this point” she added.
