The Rás na mBan is in Kilkenny all this week with the first of five days of international racing underway on Wednesday.

Like last year, the rest is set to begin in the western environs of the county with a stage finish up along Green Street in Callan having completed two laps of a 13km finishing circuit meaning a finish line setup with three chances to see riders during Wednesday afternoon.

This week sees two route changes from the 2021 renewal in order to keep things fresh.

Thursday’s second stage will conclude on the grounds of Woodstock House in Inistioge while the Piltown stage has been switched to Saturday this year.

Wednesday’s racing begins at the Springhill Court Hotel at 4.45pm with 75.3km to be covered, finishing in Callan around 6.35pm.

Team Ireland will be represented by Eve McCrystal, Iara Gillespie, Emily Kay, Linda Kelly and Kelly Murphy, however, the Irish contingent is very strong with Cycling Leinster, Cycling Munster, Cycling Ireland Womens Commission, Cycling Ulster and Greenmount Cycling Academy all with heavy Irish representation.

We’ll have updates on air and online across the week, culminating in a special outside broadcast on Sunday morning live from The Parade in Kilkenny ahead of the closing two stages.
