Soccer

The Irish Soccer team fell to another defeat to the Netherlands last night to heap more pressure on manager Stephen Kenny as the Dutch beat the home side 2-1. Ireland took the lead after just three minutes when Adam Idah converted a penalty.

The lead didn’t last too long as the Dutch were on level terms fifteen minutes later with a penalty of their own. Wout Weghorst was the Dutch hero as he headed home to give the Dutch two points and sit second in group B while Ireland are fourth six points now behind Greece. Mathematically its possible for Ireland to still qualify but that would also require other results going their way. There is much pressure on Stephen Kenny and there is much speculation on whether he will remain on as the Irish manager
