Carlow are opening their National Hurling League campaign at 2 this Saturday against Kildare.
One man who should be lining out for Tom Mullaleys side is Conor Kehoe, after being named on the 2023 panel yesterday
The St. Mullins man was crucial in DCU’s win over SETU Carlow last night in the Fitzgibbon Cup.
An injury-time goal helped DCU to a one-point victory, in a game where Kilkenny captain Eoin Cody managed an impressive 1-12 of SETu’s 1-19.
There were plenty of players from Kilkenny and Carlow involved last night, Tullogher-Rosbercons Conor Hennessy bagged 1-01 for DCU while Clara’s Martin O’Connell and Bennetsbridge Conor Murphy chipped in with scores. Fiachra Fitzpatrick of Mount Leinster Rangers and Dunnamaggins Harry Walsh also lined out for the Dublin side.
SETU Carlow of course had county stalwart Chris Nolan who put over a point, while bolstered by David Blanchfield of Bennetsbridge and James Stephens Cian Kenny. The Rowers Tom Doyle & Graigenamanagh’s Richard Foley.
Both teams now advance to the quarter-finals due to Carlow’s scoring difference over Mary Immaculate.
