Waterford legend Dan Shanahan has called time on his playing career.
The 2007 Hurler of the Year lined out for his club Lismore at the age of 45 this season, making his debut for the side in 1993.
Shanahan enjoyed 30 seasons as a senior with Lismore and he’s told that he’s stepped away with “no regrets”, having loved every moment with his club and county earning four Munster titles, three all-stars, and one National Hurling League title.
The retirement comes after Lismore lost to Mount Sion in the quarter-final of the Waterford Senior Hurling Championship at the end of August.
