St. Joseph’s Tulla 1-11

The players and the coaches change but the results remain the same.

Year in, year out, St. Kieran’s College produce and 2022 has been no different as they advanced to yet another All-Ireland PPS Senior Hurling Championship final following their defeat of St. Joseph’s Tulla on Saturday afternoon.

It was the Kilkenny school that took an early 0-04 to 0-02 lead as their brutal efficiency in front of goal came to the fore right from the first second the ball was throw in.

Despite getting the next two points to level the game, the Clare school could not live with the likes of Harry Shine, Donagh Murphy, Anthony Ireland Wall and more causing all kinds of problems for St. Jospeh’s defence.

A scoring blitz from the men in black and white ten minutes prior to half-time saw the Kilkenny side lead by four points at the interval, St. Kieran’s College 0-09 to 0-05 St. Joseph’s Tulla.

Any chance of a comeback for St. Joseph’s went by the wayside as the second half progressed with Donagh Murphy grabbing a goal for himself either side of Brian Dowling’s side’s first and third goals as the scoreboard made for healthy reading for Kieran’s supporters.

A late goal for the Munster side was nothing more than a consolation as Kieran’s await the winners of today’s second semi-final between Ard Scoil Ris and Good Counsel.
