St. Mullins Senior Hurling manager PJ Delaney says that Ballinkillen could be the team to make the breakthrough this year.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Saturday evening’s clash, PJ says he has no problem with Ballinkillen going the sweeper route if it brings them success….
“Ballinkillen are after improving even from last year so they could be the team to make a breakthrough this year, so I am expecting a titantic clash now on Saturday and I am fully expecting them to throw the kitchen sink at us so we better have something ready to throw back at them”
“Well, I suppose by nature if you have a sweeper it means you have 7 backs versus 6 forwards so you have one extra and if you play any possession games or anything like that and you have one extra, it means you have to work that bit harder, but if a team is going to employ their resources to the best of their ability and they want to go the sweeper, then more power if it works for them”
PJ Delaney says Galway will be delighted that Austin Gleeson was given the all clear to play in the upcoming All-Ireland Senior Final.
Speaking to KCLR, PJ says that Galway will want to play against the best team possible…..
“I suppose justice as we all want to see the best players playing, we are all delighted, well I was anyway to see that Austin Gleeson got off, but I suppose if your absolutely a sticulate for rules, you could probably argue an awful lot there, why is he getting off and the Tadhg De Burca issue didn’t get off, but I am happy that he is playing and I would say Galway lads, no matter what, they want to be taking on the best Waterford Team so we will probably have to play a waiting game again now for Conor Gleeson”
