St. Mullins made history again in the Carlow Senior Hurling Championship, overcoming Mount Leinster Rangers 2-16 to 0-13.
At half time, St. Mullins lead the way by a single point, 1-06 to 0-8, thanks in no small part to the free-taking skills and a goal from Marty Kavanagh. A second half goal off the hurl of Seamus Murphy from a near impossible angle furthered St. Mullins lead and while there was a third goal ruled out, it was more than enough to allow PJ Delaney’s men to pull clear.
Not without its casualties, Mount Leinster Rangers saw tempers fly with no fewer than three red cards, while St. Mullins were reduced to 14 themselves in the second half.
At the final whistle, our sideline reporter Joe Nolan caught up with manager PJ Delaney and captain Jack Kavanagh to get their immediate reaction.
