Following a dominant 2-33 to 1-08 victory over Erin’s Own on Saturday, O’Loughlin Gaels manager Brian Hogan expressed his satisfaction with the result but emphasized that tougher tests lie ahead.
Speaking to KCLR after the match, Hogan was pleased with his team’s performance, particularly their ability to rack up such a high score. “I think it was a 2-33, it’s a fair score to rack up, regardless of the opposition in senior hurling, so delighted with that,” Hogan noted.
However, Hogan quickly shifted focus to the challenges that await O’Loughlin Gaels as they progress through the season. “At the same time, it’s kind of onwards, we have stiffer challenges to come,” he remarked, underscoring the competitive mindset he is instilling within the squad.
He highlighted the importance of internal competition, saying, “We’re just trying to create a competition within the group, which is there and it’s good to see. Just come in, just do your job and pick the best man in the best position.”
Next up for the county champions is a crucial clash against Graigue Ballycallan this Saturday at 2 pm, a match that coincides with the Dicksboro vs. Bennettsbridge game.
