Marble City Cyclers Club Committee member Elizabeth Kent says there is a strong charitable aspect to their annual Tour De Kilkenny Cycle which takes place over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Elizabeth outlined to KCLR the charities that are going to benefit from this year’s event.
She said “Over the last 10 years, we would have raised around €130,000 and given back to local charities”.
“For 2019, we have chosen five charities, we have the Samaritans, we have the Watergarden in Thomastown, we have the pilgrimage trust, the New Ross Meals on wheels and a new addition for 2019, breast cancer Ireland”.
