Matt Hall of Basketball Ireland is confident that local ladies teams Marble City Hawks and IT Carlow can cause upsets in a 3 x 3 Ladies Basketball Tournament which takes place in the National Stadium in Tallaght on Saturday.
Matt is organizing Saturday’s Tournament which serves an Olympic Qualifier for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo and he told KCLR, that the Division One Teams will be capable of upsetting the Super-league Teams.
“They will so from your particular area, MC Hawks who have had a good little run of late in the League and obviously ITC Carlow are top of the League in Division One so they will be looking for some strong performances so I mean from my point of view and from a neutral point of view, I will be hoping there will be a few upsets where some Division One Teams do take on a beat some of the Super League Teams and likewise Super League Teams will be trying to make sure it doesn’t happen but I think it’s going to be a really interesting event, and I have no doubt there will be some shocks some upsets along the way”
