Carlow 0-07
Antrim 0-12
An inability to score in the second half proved costly for Carlow on Saturday afternoon as they kicked off their Electric Ireland Minor Hurling Championship campaign with a defeat to Antrim in Abbottstown on Saturday afternoon.
The teams could not be separated in a sun-drenched National Games Development Centre as a low-scoring affair remained tense throughout an attritional first half, Carlow 0-05 to 0-05 Antrim.
That was as good as it would get for the Barrowsiders, however, as Antrim took control of the game in the second half.
Two points in the second half proved too little for Carlow as the Ulster side added seven points to their first half tally to seal a five-point win.
