The annual Stook event, hosted by Gowran AC, took place on Sunday with over 400 runners on the road in what is now a firmly established event on the local athletic calendar.
The County 10-mile championships were held in conjunction with the race and there were individual wins for Maura Bambrick (Gowran) and Ray Lonergan (KCH) while host club Gowran scooped both team prizes along with the Kealy Shield for combined male and feamle teams.
Cowbells rang out across Dungarvan village supporting the runners across the finish line as Danny Smith from Ballynonty AC finished first for the men at 57:34 and Márie Griffith from St. Abbans at 1:10:42
If you’re planning ahead of next year, the event is already in the diary for 27 November.
