They’re at it again!

Four brave local souls will saddle up again as they compete in the Race Across America which gets underway on June 18.

Team Aspect, which is made up of Séamus, John, Charlie, and Philip, will cycle from Oceanside, California to Maryland, Annapolis covering over 3000 miles.

They’ll be climbing 175,000 feet and passing through 12 states, all to raise money for the Aspect Unit in Kilkenny.

In 2019, Team Aspect took part in the race and completed it raising over €30,000.

The Aspect Unit’s day service was formally opened in 2013 to provide specialised day services to adults with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disability in the Kilkenny area.

Aspect operates under SOS Kilkenny which has charity status and was set up in the 1960s to provide support to people with intellectual disabilities, both day and residential.

Money raised goes towards the purchase of some life-changing facilities for the service users of the Aspect unit.

Donations to the fundraiser can be made here.
