We’re into the closing chapter of 2020 and the David Buggy Motors Kilkenny Sport Star Award is drawing to a close for another year.
As we do each December, we shift the focus to the overall club of the year.
This year, some clubs have been lucky to get out on the pitch, course, field, track, road and get games and events under their belts. Others haven’t been quite as lucky.
When games disappeared, clubs turned back into their communities and helped neighbours and friends, organised food and medicine runs, held responsible fundraisers and repaid support shown to them week in, week out.
There have been county finals won and lost, clubs doing great work at underage level when their senior members can’t take part in events and sometimes when it looked like there was nothing happening, behind the scenes there were lots happening.
That’s 2020 folks.
