Welcome to The Knock On, KCLR, and Scoreline.ie’s weekly rugby podcast.
This is a special show from the 7th of January 2009 where Stephen Byrne speaks to Sean O’Brien, Cora Browne, Tom Nolan and Sean Rowan about the club at the time and Sean’s progress with Leinster.
It was part of KCLR community programming at the time so obviously, all references to people, events and things mentioned are 14 years old and were relevant at the time.
The panel was Sean Rowan, club president that year, Cora Browne, a committee member and the previous year’s president, the first-ever lady president in the South East region.
Sean O’Brien, emerging Leinster player and Tullow assistant coach to the J1’s and Tom Nolan fixtures secretary and U20 manager.
They discuss the clubs founding, the 2009 situation of the club, and how all their teams were doing.
Sean O’Brien talks about getting into rugby, playing football, encouraging young people to get involved, and how he’s getting on in Leinster and wanting more game time (little did he know what would follow).
