“You can’t beat winning, the feeling inside is fantastic,” says Derek Lyng after Leinster Final win

Kilkenny is looking to maintain their undefeated streak in the Allianz National Hurling League this Sunday as they host Offaly at UPMC Nowlan Park.

Manager Derek Lyng acknowledged the challenges of training during this time of the year and the impact of the two-week gap between their victory over Cork and the upcoming clash with Offaly.

Lyng stated, “Training at the minute, it’s tough going this time of year. We’ve had a lot of players coming back now from, you know, they’re away with clubs up to the middle of January, and we’ll have to look at the panel as well. So by the time the Offaly match comes around or even after that, the panel will be trimmed a little bit.”

“We’ve a really good group in there, and some fellows will go back to the development squad, and you know, some players then will be kept on. But all the time, those guys are improving, and there’s good competition there.”

The manager emphasized the ongoing evaluation and improvement within the team, indicating that decisions regarding the panel would be made based on performance.

Commentators Adrian Ronan and two-time All-Ireland winner Michael Walsh will be covering the game, starting at quarter to 2 this Sunday, courtesy of Laharts.

Additionally, the Match Analysis will kick off after the 1 pm news, featuring eight-time All-Ireland winner Aidan Fogarty providing his pre-match, half-time, and post-match insights.
