The 2022 PWC GPA Players Player of the Year has been sidelined over the last few months with an injury
Miriam Walsh was on a high after last year’s All-Ireland win and picking up her third All-Star award and to cap it all off she was voted PWC GPA players player of the year. She was looking forward to getting back on the pitch this year and played the first Very National League game against Clare but she picked up an injury at training before the second round against Dublin which would put her season in jeopardy.
She caught up with KCLR’s Martin Quilty after the game on Saturday where she watched her teammates have a huge win over Westmeath.
“Yeah I’m three weeks post-op, I’m on the road to recovery and hopefully the nine months will fly”
“It’s disappointing that I’m not playing but I’m absolutely delighted to be still part of a great bunch of girls, they were brilliant today so delighted they got over the line”
Miriam has just started her rehab journey which will be long and tough “I started rehab yesterday, a different perspective this year but hopefully the few months will fly”
Miriam will be in UPMC Nowlan Park on Saturday as her teammates play Dublin in the Leinster Senior Leinster Final at 2.30pm
