The Ryder Cup will celebrate it’s 100th anniversary in 2027, and the matches between Europe and the USA will be held at Adare Manor in Limerick in that year.
This year’s tournament was postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic.The 43rd Ryder Cup match will still be held at Whistling Straits, but in September of next year. The decision advice from medical experts and the public authorities in Wisconsin.
European captain Padraig Harrington hopes the Ryder Cup can be presented ‘in all its glory’ in 2021. While Paul McGinley – who was Europe’s winning captain in 2014 – also says it’s the right thing to do.
McGinley stated “It wasn’t an easy decision to come to, as there are a lot of moving parts involved and it has taken a long time to get to where we are now. I think it’s expected by most people that this was the most probable outcome and I think most people are going to be behind that decision.”
Next year’s President’s Cup at Quail Hollow has also been been put back to 2022 while The R-and-A has confirmed that this year’s Women’s British Open will go ahead.
The competition will be staged at Royal Troon from August 20th, but no spectators will be allowed on site.
The R-and-A were forced to cancel the men’s Open Championship at Royal St. George’s this month due to COVID-19.
The Women’s British Open will be the first women’s Major played this year.
