2017 marked the 50th anniversary of the fabled 1967 All-Ireland senior hurling championship final.
That game, which saw Kilkenny come through a hard-fought battle against arch-rivals Tipperary still stands out in the minds of players, experts and lovers of the game as a unique, seminal fixture in the history of Kilkenny hurling.
The county hadn’t beaten Tipperary in an All-Ireland final in 45 years and in 2017 we set about revisiting the game, its buildup and its importance in Kilkenny GAA history with the help of former Kilkenny player and current Offaly senior hurling manager Michael Fennelly.
