Richie Power, an eight-time Senior All-Ireland winner with Kilkenny and two-time All Ireland minor victor, took a moment to commend the valiant effort of the Kilkenny minor panel, despite their missing out on All-Ireland glory this time around. Reflecting on their journey, Power expressed admiration for their resilience and character throughout the season.
“You’re going to have disappointment in sports. Look, after some of the results at the beginning of the year, we wondered if they would be in an All-Ireland final? And they showed us, umpteen times, that they had the character. They’ve done it against Clare in the semi-final, and deservedly so. They’ve given us great enjoyment this year. They can hold their heads up high. They’ve battled to the bitter end,” Power remarked.
“They just came up against a huge, heroic Tipperary performance. There are definitely bright stars in that minor team to look forward to coming up over the next couple of years.”
