Thomastown Minor Hurling mentor Daragh McGarry says it’s refreshing for South Kilkenny clubs to be plying their trade at the top of the pile especially at under-age level.
Thomastown and Mooncoin enjoyed Minor Championship success on Sunday, and speaking to KCLR after Thomastown won the Minor Roinn B title on Sunday, Daragh says it was a Minor title success that Thomastown badly needed.
“It’s great to see South Hurling being strong again.
“Normally it’s the town teams that seem to dominate under-age hurling but it’s great to see them plugging away.
“Look Thomastown needed this a lot, in 1981 I think was the last time we won a Minor Final so it means a lot to the club.
