The two teams that will compete to become JJ Kavanagh & Sons Kilkenny Junior Hurling champions have been confirmed following Saturday’s semi-finals at UPMC Nowlan Park.

Tullogher Rosbercon will take on Mooncoin as both sides defeated James Stephens and Slieverue respectively.

For Tullogher Rosbercon, it was a comfortable win as they convincingly strode to victory thanks to some expert shooting.

Despite grabbing two goals, James Stephens could not match the efficiency levels that their opposition showed throughout as the southern club controlled a relatively disappointing encounter throughout.

Tullogher Rosbercon, having already made history this year by making the Minor ‘A’ county final for the first time in the clubs history, a game that they eventually lost to Dicksboro, are now on the brink of yet another piece of history as they find themselves on the verge of promoting to intermediate following a 0-27 to 2-14 win.

Mooncoin will also be vying to return to the intermediate ranks after they destroyed Slieverue in the second of Saturday’s semi-finals.

Goals proved vital in a game between two historical rivals. Mooncoin hit the back of the net on six separate occasions, their firepower proving too much to handle for Slieverue.

Mooncoin eventually advanced to next month’s decider on a scoreline of 6-13 to 0-13.
