It has been a whirlwind fortnight for Tullow Rugby Club.
The maroon and white men won their very first Provincial Towns Cup beating a tough Skerries Side in Athy and that was followed during the week by the Ladies team who beat old Belvedere in Naas to claim theres after going through the season only losing one game.
However todays Seconds final in Carlow Rugby Club was a bridge too far.
The local side went up against Naas who today picked up the Seconds and Thirds Cups.
Naas held a 10-5 lead at half time but got a converted try in the second half that sealed the deal for them with Tullow only managing a penalty that period.
What a year it has been for Tullow though, whose youths teams are also flying it, time now to celebrate and who knows, Maurice Logue and the Ladies team management of James Foley and John Roche could have their respective teams back out in pre-season in a few weeks, there are cups to defend after all.
