As part of our continued coverage in the run-in to the All-Ireland senior hurling championship final, today we’ve got a full-length interview for you with Kilkenny senior hurling manager Derek Lyng.
Appointed to the role last summer as successor to Brian Cody, Lyng has been part of Kilkenny backroom teams for the last decade as a selector with Cody before guiding the Cats’ under 20’s to All-Ireland success in 2022.
Here he chats with Scoreline’s Robbie Dowling, sharing his thoughts on Kilkenny facing Limerick for a third time in just over 12 months, what the All-Ireland means to him having been there as a player and now manager, the preparations involved and what it’s been like for him, personally, for his first term in charge.
