It’s All-Ireland Sunday.
Those few words mean so much to so many, but this weekend it’s Kilkenny and Limerick fans who will be most excited.
Ahead of today’s final, we had a chance to catch up with O’Loughlin Gael’s man and Kilkenny full-back Huw Lawlor. Having been introduced to the senior fold in 2018, Lawlor is no stranger to Croke Park’s biggest days.
Featuring for Kilkenny in 2019’s All-Ireland final defeat to Tipperary, Lawlor wouldn’t be leaving Croke Park with a Celtic Cross but would go on to pick up an All-Star that year. Making full-back his own, he’s been a near ever-present under Brian Cody and again this season under Derek Lyng. He was there in the defeat to Limerick in 2022’s decider and is named to start again in this year’s final.
If you’re trying to soak up more match content before throw-in or in the car on the way to Dublin, take a look at the full interview below with Huw talking about his time to date on the team, getting another crack at Limerick, Kilkenny’s progress this season and what an All-Ireland final means to him.
