Carlow GAA are preparing to showcase what senior football has to offer this weekend as we near the end of the championship.
The two semi-finals pit Bagenalstown Gaels against Rathvilly while Mount Leinster Rangers go up against five-in-a-row chasing defending champions Éire Óg.
After winning the county final in the hurling it took a while for Mount Leinster to get into the run of things, however, they fine kept up a great first-half performance to best Palatine 13 points to 1-7 in the quarter-final stages.
Despite being underdogs going into the crunch clash, Rangers selector Pat Hickey is relishing the opportunity.
“We are happy we got to a semi-final”, he told Scoreline this week.
“People, in the beginning, had us written off as being relegated back down to intermediate. That was never going to be the case with our club, that was never going to be the case, we are too proud of a club for that. We fight to the bitter end.”
“We are in the semi-final now, everyone knows. We will give it a great shot.”
