Kilkenny celebrated a resounding victory over Dublin to clinch their fifth consecutive Leinster Senior Hurling Championship title with a commanding 3-28 to 1-18 win at Croke Park.
The Cats were unforgiving in a match that contrasted sharply with their narrow two-point win over Dublin in the fourth round at Parnell Park just two weeks earlier.

TJ Reid was instrumental, sure when is’nt he? With the Shamrocks man netting two crucial goals, while clubmate Eoin Cody added another to cement Kilkenny’s dominant performance. Cody, a former two-time Young Hurler of the Year, reflected on the team’s improved showing in the final.
“Obviously, two weeks ago, it was a great battle. We probably weren’t prepared for Dublin for the game. Obviously, you see how much they’ve evolved in terms of their running game, and we probably weren’t ready for that two weeks ago,” Cody said.
He continued, “As soon as we knew we were playing Dublin in the Leinster final, we knew what they were going to do, and we just wanted to counteract that, and we did our job, and we did it very well.”
Cody highlighted the forwards’ determination to address their previous shortcomings, stating, “We weren’t happy about how things went two weeks ago, simple as, especially as forwards. It came out too easy from their puck-outs, and we took ownership as a group of forwards. We were not going to let it happen again. You saw in the first 20 minutes when nothing went on for them, they obviously brought back that sweeper in the end, and they probably got a bit more joy.”
“We knew what they were going to do, and we tried to counteract that, and I think it went well,” he concluded.
This victory not only extends Kilkenny’s reign in the Leinster Championship but also adds another accolade to Cody’s impressive career, which includes an All-Star and now five Leinster medals.
