Carlow made a strong start to their Allianz National Hurling League Division 2A fixtures last weekend, securing a decisive 3-22 to 0-19 victory against Kerry in Tralee.
Tom Mullally’s charges demonstrated their prowess up front, with goals from Chris Nolan, Fiachra Fitzpatrick, and Marty Kavanagh contributing to the impressive scoreline.
Mullally expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, emphasizing the collective effort that went into the victory. In an interview with KCLR, Mullally stated, “Whatever about the scoreline, I think the performance was there from everybody, I mean, to be fair to the players. I think they have to take huge credit for getting themselves right for today. We’ve worked hard for the month of January, and obviously, the start of the League was always kind of a test point for us. It was going to tell us exactly where we’re at, and now at the end of the full 70 minutes of competitive hurling, we know where we’re at.”
The comprehensive win against Kerry serves as a positive indicator for Carlow as they navigate the challenges of the Allianz National Hurling League.
Carlow’s hurling journey continues on Sunday when they host Meath at Netwatch Cullen Park for a second-round encounter. The upcoming fixture promises another exciting chapter in Carlow’s quest for success in the league, and fans can catch all the action with throw-in set for 2 pm. KCLR will provide full live commentary, ensuring supporters stay connected and engaged with every moment of the game.
We will also be sitting down with Meath manager Seoirse Bulfin ahead of the tie, with that interview playing this Saturday on Scoreline from 2-6 pm
As Carlow builds on the momentum gained from their opening victory, the team, under the guidance of Tom Mullally, looks forward to facing Meath and further solidifying their position in the Allianz National Hurling League Division 2A.
