I have seen many people online arguing that Anthony Martial’s miss against PSG as one of the worst they have ever seen. The Frenchman failed to convert two golden chances and that resulted in the Paris side coming away with a win.

For anyone who missed it, here is the moment again (with added music for dramatic effect.)

Anthony Martial

How does it rank against some other horrible blunders? Less take a look back at some of the worst misses in soccer history ever.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting

PSG needed just a victory against minnows Strasbourg to seal their 8th Ligue 1 title.  It fell to the feet of a man who just the season before had been relegated from the top flight of English football with the mighty Stoke. With finishing skills like this, Stoke could of done with a Neymar of Mbappe in the side. Maybe if they utilized Moting in defence?

Peter Enckleman

Not technically a goal chance missed but Enckelman completely missed the ball so it’s going in here. One of the biggest rivalries in English football regarded as “The Second City Derby”, and your goal keeper does that!

Fernando Torres

Liverpool fans must of been torn El Niño missed this sitter at Old Trafford. On one hand it was someone missing against United, on the other it was their former hero who cast them aside to sign for rivals Chelsea. As a United fan, I took immense joy in this.

Raheem Sterling

That beautiful Titanic music makes an appearance yet again. This time as the sinking ship known as Manchester Cities Champions League aspiration went down once again. Seconds later Dembele goes down the other end for Lyon and send Man City out at the quarter final stage for third year in a row.

Ronnie Rosenthal

To be fair to Liverpools Ronnie Rosenthal here if he did not have to play in such pixelated times he may have scored?

KANU

I can still remember watching this live thinking how was it humanly possible to strike a ball so close to the goal so high over it? I guess the former Arsenal striker was just that skilled

Mario Ballotelli

All though it happened during friendly in America it is still a pretty bad miss. The complete disrespect shown by this tame effort seen Ballotelli dragged off to be replaced by James Milner right after. The attitude shwon by the Italian has seen him bounce club after club and he now finds himself training with  Serie D side Franciacorta while being a free agent.

Fahad Khalfan

When Qatar play Uzbekistan you know you are in for a good game. In what one can only assume was an exhilarating 90 minutes of football that was still someone goaless, one man stepped up….to make sure it remained goaless with this wonder miss.

Frank Mill

Frank Mill’s miss is regarded by some of the miss of the last century. What made this worse was it was Mill’s debut for Dortmund who trailing against Bayern in the opening game of the season. The game ended in a draw with Mill registering an assist and eventually scoring 17 goals all season.

Have we missed any you would like to see added?
