The fixtures list for the 2023 Lidl Ladies National Football League were released earlier this week.

We’ve already seen who Kilkenny will be playing on their return to the national stage for the first time in four years, but who will Carlow take on and when next year?

Carlow are on the A side of the Division 4 split, in a four-team group alongside Antrim, Fermanagh and London. While they will be able to start at home against London, they’ll be on the road for their other two group games with away trips to Fermanagh and Antrim.

Given there are only three rounds of games in Group A as opposed to the five rounds in Group B, Carlow’s games will be fortnightly from 5 February, starting two weeks later than Kilkenny in Group B.

Carlow’s group games look like

  • Sunday 5 February 2023: Carlow v London
  • Sunday 19 February 2023: Fermanagh v Carlow
  • Sunday 5 March 2023: Antrim v Carlow

The top two teams in each group go through to the Division 4 semi-finals, pencilled in for Sunday 26 March with the winners in each group playing the runners-up in the opposite group with the final booked for Sunday 16 April.

Carlow went on to top their All-Ireland junior football championship group earlier this year, losing out to eventual champions Antrim in the semi-final stages, 3-18 to 0-13.

League mates Antrim and Fermanagh needed a replay to decide a home for this year’s junior All-Ireland title, their first game finishing 1-13 apiece before Antrim hit 3-15 to Fermanagh’s 0-11 in August to be crowned this year’s All-Ireland champions.
