Young Irelands manager Barry Power has made it clear that his side is fully committed to leaving everything on the field in this weekend’s Michael Lyng Motors Kilkenny Intermediate Hurling Championship Final.
Gowran will face Lisdowney at 3:15 PM on Sunday in UPMC Nowlan Park, with the game broadcast live on KCLR, sponsored by Proficient Engineering Ltd.
Speaking to KCLR after his team’s semi-final victory, Power expressed confidence in his squad’s abilities and their determination to win.
“We’re in it to win it,” Power said. “You have no opportunity to win it unless you’re there, so we’re there now, and we’re going to give it everything we have to try and get it over the line.”
Power also highlighted the bright future for Gowran and their importance to Kilkenny hurling as a whole, particularly when looking at the team’s youth and potential.
“When you look at the age profile of the players and the potential for not just Gowran but Kilkenny teams going forward, there are an awful lot of good hurlers playing for Gowran. The future bodes well for Gowran, and please God, we have another day in the final where we produce the same type of hurling again.”
