Carlow’s hurlers head for Mullingar this weekend in what is effectively a dead rubber against Westmeath in the Joe McDonagh Cup.
Kerry await their opponents in the final after getting the better of Carlow last weekend.
Colm Bonnar says they needed to win that game despite it being mathematically possible to qualify:
He said “There is a slim chance that we would have to go down and beat Westmeath and beat them very well but you’re really talking lottery numbers, I know Antrim has to go to Meath and win that game”.
