Brian Cody has made four changes to the Kilkenny side due to face Clare in the second round of this year’s National Hurling League.

At corner back, Dicksboro’s Evan Cody has been named No. 2, pushing Cillian Buckley into midfield. Walter Walsh and Richie Leahy are expected to start alongside Kevin Kelly. As such, St. Lachtain’s James Maher and Erins Own’s Conor Delaney have been named on the bench.

Clare team to face Kilkenny

Clare Senior Hurling Joint Managers Donal Moloney and Gerry O’Connor have named their starting 15 to face Kilkenny in Round 2 of the 2017 Allianz National Hurling League Division 1A at Cusack Park, Ennis, this Sunday (19 February 2017) at 2.00 p.m.

The team shows three changes from the side that started against Cork in Pairc Uí Rinn last weekend.

Oisín O’Brien (Clonlara), David Fitzgerald (Inagh-Kilnamona) and Aaron Cunningham (Wolfe Tones na Sionna) come in for Shane Golden (Sixmilebridge) and Ballyea’s Jack Browne and Tony Kelly who have returned to the Ballyea club ahead of the All Ireland Senior Hurling Club Championship Final.

Crusheen’s Cian Dillon captains the Clare team in the absence of the absent Vice-Captain Kelly and Captain Pat O’Connor (Tubber) who is recovering from a shoulder injury.
