Carlow Ladies Soccer Inter-League manager Patrick Dowling says their game on Sunday at home to Cork will be a tougher test now than originally as their only scheduled opponents Dublin pulled out of the competition.
Speaking to KCLR, Patrick says it will be a different challenge from what they have faced before.
“Dublin pulled out of it. Their was a falling out in the camp and we got a phone call more or less on the 11th hour saying that they weren’t travelling, so we ended up been put in with Cork and the Metropolitan League and the Combined Counties. It’s actually a tougher test now than we had originally. It’s something different for the girls as well, something completely different. They haven’t played a team outside of Leinster before and they haven’t played against the Metropolitan League so it’s a fresh challenge for them and they are reigning Leinster Champions so they are to be shot at”
