Former Kilkenny hurler Christy Heffernan there has been great progress made since Kilkenny’s League clash with Tipperary in Thurles.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s League Quarter-Final clash at home to Wexford, Christy says the experienced players – who are currently out – will have to fight hard to win their place back.
“Your as good as your last match anytime in Kilkenny and you would wonder why our lads are not back yet. They are not back because the jersey is occupied by others so there has certainly been great progress from the game in Thurles.
“They seem to be going in the right direction. In saying all that Wexford are on a high with a new man down there on the block. I suppose it is good for hurling locally to see Wexford back up there because you need Wexford and Offaly and Limerick and Waterford all those other teams making a breakthrough as well” he said
