Republic of Ireland Soccer Manager Martin O’Neill says that he thought Seani Maguire would be okay to be a part of the squad for the Denmark games over the next week.
Speaking ahead of the game, O’Neill says that he thought Maguire might be okay having finished the game against Aston Villa.
“I was speaking to him and hes obviously very disappointed to have missed out.
“I thought everything would be okay and I was very disappointed to hear that he had to undergo surgery,” he said.
Seani is expected to be back in about 8-10 weeks time.
Ireland will be hoping to seal their place at next years World Cup for the first time since Korea and Japan in 2002.
