Kilkenny camogie’s Martin Quilty says their national league final could have been played much earlier yesterday.
The game was given a 7.30 pm start in Croke Park last night meaning a lot of players would have to take time off work today and it made life difficult for supporters to travel to Dublin so late.
Kilkenny won the game but Martin, who commentated for us here on KCLR, says it could have been on before the Euro’s yesterday.
“That game could have been played at 2 pm or 2.30 pm yesterday, even 3 pm before the Euro’s” said Martin.
“They (RTE) would have got a huge audience, bigger crowd in Croke Park as well, my biggest gripe is that you see the amount of coverage that the hurling and the football gets on the Sunday game on a Sunday evening, and the camogie is slotted into a three-minute slot if they’re lucky” he added.
