Irish Boxing has lost a legend

From Paulstown boxing facebook page

The local boxing community is mourning the loss of Noel Kehoe, one of the founding members of Clara (1977) and Marble City Boxing Club (1992).

He was also a member of the Central Council and held officer positions in the Laois/Kilkenny/Carlow County Boxing Board.

Only a few years ago Noel was inducted into the Irish boxing Hall of Fame and presented with his award by the Irish Amateur Boxing Association.

Ollie O’Neill from Paulstown Boxing club spoke to Noel’s lasting legacy within boxing circles;

“It is a very sad time, a great gentleman of boxing. A fountain of knowledge about boxing, his organization skills were unreal.”

“He did everything for boxing, for Kilkenny, Carlow, Leinster, and Ireland as well.”

“Every position he held he held with great esteem, a true gentleman.”

We send our sincere condolences to the Kehoe family, Marble City Boxing, and everyone within the boxing community.
