Carlow’s 2023 season begins on Wednesday night with their O’Byrne Cup opener.
Niall Carew’s side welcome Meath to Barrowside as preparations for their Allianz National Football League Division 4 campaign enter full swing.
Throw-in at Netwatch Cullen Park is 8pm.
They then travel to Pearse Park on Saturday for a clash with Longford before wrapping up the pre-season competition against Laois.
Having sealed promotion from the bottom tier of the league in 2018 under the stewardship of Turlough O’Brien, Carlow supporters will be hoping that they can make a promotion push after a disappointing run of results in the 2022 edition.
They will then look forward to a Leinster championship meeting with neighbours Wicklow later in the year.
However, the foundation for the the league and championship begins this week.
