This Saturday on Scoreline we will have KCLRs first interview with Derek Lyng since he was appointed Kilkenny’s senior hurling manager.
In the interview, the Emeralds man discusses the process of replacing 11-time All-Ireland-winning boss Brian Cody, the need to stamp his own identity on the Leinster champions, and his goals for 2023.

“It is always the ambition when you are playing for Kilkenny to win the All-Ireland. The reality of it is we have a lot of work to do between now and then, and between now and the Championship.
“We are not entitled to be in the shake-up for it, we have to put a lot of work in and be prepared. Let’s see where that takes us.
“When we are looking at players, and we are looking at a squad and team, we want lads who are motivated to win.
Ultimately, that is the end goal.”
The full interview will be on Scoreline this Saturday from 4pm, and you can listen to Lyng’s first match in charge of Kilkenny on KCLR this Sunday at 2pm when they take on Offaly in John Locke Park, Callan.
