Naomh Eoin Myshall manager Eamonn Phelan says they don’t have a full panel for tonights Championship opener with Ballinkillen with players missing through suspension and injury.

Speaking to KCLR ahead of tonights game, Eamonn says every game in the Carlow Championship is serious….

“Preparations have been going alright. Since I have come in, we still don’t have a full panel available to us. This weekend now we are missing a good few lads through suspension and stuff, and then we have other lads injured so yes, I have to see every player available in the club but it is what it is. You have to be taking every game serious and every team is competitive so I suppose tonight is important game for us trying to get two points but no different for the others tonight”

Ballinkillen Senior Hurling manager Jimmy Meaney says it will be a tough task to defeat Naomh Eoin Myshall in this evening’s Senior Championship opener.

Speaking to KCLR, Jimmy says that Myshall have some top class players…..

“So look at the minute, I suppose we are trying to blood some new players. We are looking to get some new guys in and maybe rebuilding a small bit. There has been a bit of a mixed bag in terms of the Leinster League for us and a bit unfortunate but look we have a tough task against Myshall tonight. Something that we are really looking forward to. They have got some really really good players. I know A number of lads who have been involved with the Carlow Senior Team. James O’Hara, Ross Smithers and John Michael Nolan. These are hell of a players so look we have a tough task tonight”
