A third place finish would represent progress for the Carlow Footballers says Tommy Wogan

Carlow Senior selector Tommy Wogan says a 3rd place in Division 4 of the National League would represent progress for Carlow.

Speaking to KCLR after their victory over Wicklow on Sunday, Tommy says the key is to build on the progress made…..

“The start of the year like I mean our target was for promotion out of Division 4, but unfortunately we are just going to fall a bit short of it but at the same time, it’s been a good league campaign for us and the key to it to build on this and please god to go into next year with a lot of confidence, and promotion is there for Carlow. We are not that far off it”

Tommy also says that Wexford’s League results have proved they are nothing to be afraid of.

Carlow play Wexford in their Final League game on Sunday with the two counties clashing again in the first round of the Championship, and speaking to KCLR, Tommy says that Wexford have been far from impressive despite getting the results.

“If you look at the League so far and Wexford’s results, while they have won all of their games, they haven’t walked away in any of their games I mean, they have been winning their two games by two points by narrow margins, they haven’t beat teams off the field with the exception probably of the London game and even at that London put up a good fight as well so everything to play come Championship”
