Kilkenny Senior Camogie player Anne Dalton says it will be a long road to try and get back to Croke Park next year after the disappointment and heartbreak of having suffered a second consecutive one-point All-Ireland Final defeat.

Speaking after she was named Camogie Players Player of the year at the All-Stars Ceremony on Saturday night, Anne says they won’t be thinking of September once the new year comes around.

“Yeah, look we have been there or thereabouts in the last two years I suppose.

“We won in 2016 so the next step is to push it over the line now hopefully next year, but January to September it’s a long stretch.

“You still have to get through Championship, you still have to get to a Semi-Final, past a Semi-Final so it’s a long way to go I suppose so we won’t be thinking about September in January or anywhere close to it,” she said.

You can hear Anne speaking to Oisin Langan below.
