Austin Gleeson V Tony Kelly – Who’s Better?!

At the moment we are blessed to be able to witness two absolutely gifted hurlers at the peak of their powers.

Recently crowned Hurler & Young Hurler of the year Austin Gleeson has been absolutely immense since his arrival on the scene in 2014 when he was just out of Minor and scored that wonder goal against Cork.

However in 2013 a fresh faced talent named Tony Kelly also put in a stellar season to become the then Hurler & Young Hurler of the year.

Gleeson was simply sensational in this years All Ireland Championships, and over the past few weeks Tony Kelly has been shooting the lights out for his club Ballyea on route to winning their first Clare and now Munster Senior Hurling Titles.

What prompted this article?

Well over the past few weeks Maurice Walsh Photography compiled two highlight reel videos of both players at their very best.

Gleeson’s was the first one to emerge last week which was mesmerizing to say the last!

And just when I thought the Waterford man was a clear winner, another video emerged – this time it was Tony Kelly.

The videos have sparked plenty of debate and this scenario reminds me of the age old argument as to whether Ronaldo was better than Messi or vice versa.

Take a look at the videos for yourself and then try to make your decision!

The first link below is of Tony Kelly and the second one is Austin Gleeson!
